Notarization
Apostille
A certificate that authenticates a notarized document for use in another country.
What is a apostille?
An apostille is an international authentication attached to a public document — often a notarized one — so it will be recognized in another country that is party to the Hague Apostille Convention. It certifies the authenticity of the notary’s or official’s signature and seal.
Apostilles are issued by a designated state authority (usually the Secretary of State), not by the notary. Notarization is typically the first step, followed by the apostille request.
Jurably can notarize the underlying document; the apostille is then obtained from the state.
