Notarize a Deed
Deeds must be acknowledged before a notary before a county will record them.
A deed transfers ownership of real property, and it must be acknowledged before a notary — the notary confirms the grantor signed willingly — before the county recorder will accept it. Warranty deeds and quitclaim deeds both require this step.
